Posted 10/2002 "We adopted our son from Baby House #8 in Moscow in June 2001; we stayed in Moscow about a month (one trip). Baby House #8 was spotless, even with renovations going on, and the caregivers worked constantly. I don't remember ever seeing one of them even sit down! We went every day for about three weeks daily to visit the baby until we were given custody, and although I'm sure we disrupted their routine, the caregivers were always nice."
Posted 11/2002 "We adopted our son last summer from Baby House #8. You could see that the caregivers took good care of the children and that the babies loved them back. It is a very big old building and they were doing work on the outside; it is gated with a guard at the gate. It was the middle of summer, very hot, but we could take him outside sometimes."
Posted 8/1/2003 "We just returned from a 3 week stay in Moscow. We were quite impressed with the groups. American funding has supplied the orph. with new playground equipment. There are 3 distinct play yards, each with their own group of children. Our son was in the 2-4 y.o. group and was allowed out everyday. The weather was warm and comfortable. His play room inside was not huge, but large enough for the 16 kids to play without having to be on top of one another.
They had books, puzzles, and Little Tikes kitchen sets. They each had a locker with their clothes, and outside shoes. Their bedroom was in the middle of being re-done while we were there. There was just enough room for the 16 toddler beds, each about 1-2 feet apart from each other. The potty area held a potty for each child, and they all go at the same time!!! Very funny to watch.
The place was very clean and neat, the caregivers were very nice and friendly, although none spoke a word of English. The new director, Mirana, was nice, but abrupt with our visit. On our last day, she thanked us for taking Max and offering him a
